Knitting needle contest

Guess a number from 1-500 and the closest to the number without going over will win the set of needles. These are handmade by me and are 4 mm. Please comment on what you would like to make with them and the number you guessed. I will announce the winner here in the blog Fri, Aug 1, at about 5 pm central time. The winner will need to contact me with their shipping information.

those are really pretty. 9 is a magic number as my youngest would say. I would used some silk handspun to make a little scarf perhaps, unless it's too slippery on the glass.

Those are gorgeous! I've never used glass needles before but those seem like they would be really decadent to use with handspun because I consider my handspun to be so special in the first place!

I'm going to say 158 for my number. =)

My guess is 235. I'd like to knit the morning surf scarf from the most recent issue of Spin-Off.

Definitely a scarf, though not lace weight as the needles might feel heavy compared to the yarn. Beautiful needles! My guess is 326

I'm going to guess 89. I would use those to knit a delicate little kimono-wrap sweater for a brand new baby.

I'd use them for a "Branching Out" scarf -- already made one with larger needles and have been wanting to try a lighter version. My guess is 437.

Those needles are quite beautiful. I just received a booklet of vintage knitting patterns --stockings --and I can think of a nice lacy pair that would look fantastic hanging from those.

My guess would be 249.

Those are gorgeous! I wonder what it's like to knit with glass. I've been wanting to knit some Patons SWS I have using the Noro Striped Scarf pattern. I'll guess 333

Those are gorgeous needles, they remind me of a tortoise shell. Would love to knit some handspun on them. I'm thinking the magic number is 49 :)

I, too, am going to have to say a lace scarf! I pick number 337 and my name is mayerlove on ravelry. : )

Oh my, Oh my! Those would be perfect for my first project with my own spun Alpaca yarn. 224 is my number.

I'll say 222. I think I'd use some of my handspun yarn to make a cowl. Lori (sticksnstring on Rav.)

My guess is 276. These are beautiful and deserve something special! Maybe some super soft alpaca!
